  8. Husband loves the book

Posted by Leah on 2nd Dec 2014

I bought the book for my husband's birthday present. He really loves the book. He has some down times where they are waiting on calls and needed something to do. Preferably, he wanted something bible related to do. The only issue I had with the book was finding it. We looked all over the place for it, and had to order it from the actual website which is odd. That was a first. It may have to do with the book never being proofread yet. I'm not really sure. But Cliff Graham you are doing a great job at writing these books. It's the only ones he reads. Please keep writing.

  9. Excellent Read

I typically avoid most Christian fiction. It's not that it is bad, but often I feel it comes off as shallow and avoids. As a result I was suspect with how I would like the Lion of War series. I picked them up as I found them on an Amazon search and have always loved imagining the tales of David's mighty men. I must say, I have been blown away by the story and Graham's ability to develop characters that you begin to identify with, while also sticking to the storyline we see in 1 and 2 Samuel so well. Song of War continues a focus on this fine line that these men walk as worship and battle collide. Like Day of War and Covenant of War before it, Song of War continues to give you a glimpse from one of the mighty men in particular (Shammah), but also focuses more on David, providing more from his perspective and the way he led his men not only in battle but in worship as well. I gave the book 4 stars as it was terrific and consistent with the previous two, but I didn't give it 5 stars as it was an early release and lacked the maps that the finished copy would have that can be so helpful in trying to visualize the battle scenes. Overall a great read that you can't put down! I'm very eager to read the last two!

  10. Sing a Joyful Noise to the Lord

Posted by Lester Boggs on 20th Oct 2014

I have been consumed by the three books of the Lion of War series, I have devoured the pages as quickly as I read them. However, I slowed as the scene unfolded of Davis teaches the Song, then chooses his select group of singers praying Glory to Yahweh in Song. Cliff Graham's description of David's reverence toward God's creation gripped me and stimulated me to STOP and revere God's creation in my own life. I appreciate the Author's humility that is evident at every turn about his creative license. I can't wait for series#4!
